The Risk Assessment Program (RAP) was established in 1991 as one of the first risk programs in the world for individuals with a family history of breast and/or ovarian cancer. This program served as a model for others around the country and led to risk assessment services at Fox Chase for other types of cancers including prostate, GI and lung cancers, renal cell cancer, uterine cancer, neuroendocrine cancers as well as skin cancer. Data collected through the Risk Assement Program is forming the basis for translational genetic research. To learn more about the Risk Assessment Program please visit us on foxchase.org

The Biosample Repository Facility (BRF) established in 1999 coordinates the ethical collection, storage, annotation and distribution of human biospecimens under Institutional Review Board-approved protocols. We provide tissue-based research services to support translational and basic research. The facility can link associated clinical data and interventions, patient and family cancer history data, and lifestyle factors to donated biospecimens.
